Prompt for day 4 – Family fun. So as you might have guessed by know, I decided to stick to the theme of travellers. There are so many weird and funny and also plain stupid tourist and travellers out there. It´s an endless source of inspiration! I have also been working in tourism for the last couple of years, and every time you think you have seen it all.. oh boy, it hits you!
I remember going on family holiday. The drama that would always occur somewhere along the way… the chaos of packing, the struggle of getting everyone into the car, siblings fighting in the back seat, sustained yelling, repeated “are we there yet?” chants, and other kind of entertaining incidents that occurred along the long road to the holiday destination. Who has had similar experiences?
Great post 🙂

Thanks. Only afterwards I remembered I should have drawn a unicorn! Saw a big blow up unicorn in a shop a few weeks ago and so wanted to have it!

I eventually gave up on family vacations with the kids… they were simply TOO stressful! 😉

😀 Same here! Seems like a lot of people have similar experiences. And still everyone keeps on doing them ….

Sounds like my family! Many times we travelled by car, moving from one side of the country to the other. It took days. And we got good at living with the chaos of travelling not just with a lot of kids, but a lot of pet, too. Once we travelled with 2 dogs, 4 cats (3 of which were kittens), and a tank of fish . . . .

Oh man, family holidays were always stressful. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful for the experiences, but I could’ve done without the constant fighting.

I totally agree!! So why people still do it to themselves? Because hope dies last??

I have no idea: maybe they feel obligated to go on family holidays?

Also, you work in tourism? Can I ask what it is you do, exactly?

Yep. I am an organisational mastermind 😛 😀 Currently as product manager for a tour operator here in Iceland. So if you ever need anything organised hit me up 😉 Couple of years ago I worked in a tourist information, not for long though. The first months were fun but then it turned into the most soul crushing experience. There are too many tourists that leave all common sense and brains behind when they go on holiday. They are also stressed for whatever reason? Dealing with them on a daily basis was too much for me …

Lol, I could use my entire life organized right now!
I can imagine that working with tourists all the time would get overwhelming. They’re often frantic; or, even worse, happy…happy people leave all reason behind and do stupid things.
I’m glad you found something better though! If I continue to fail at finding jobs maybe I’ll look into working in the tourism sector.
