Picture Perfect – A Mr Fox Story was my first ever attempt at a children´s book on my own. I had no plan and no idea what I was doing 2 years ago and this is the result of it. And I have to say, I am still quite happy with it. I had never written a story before, so please bear with me.
If you are curious about the story, get your free kindle ebook on Amazon until the 22nd of November. I am just happy to put the story out there.
Happy weekend everyone! I spent the last couple of days going over my old books (while I am working on a new one). I tried to see where I had improved and where I still have lots of work to do when it comes to my illustrations. I am currently working on a book project and I am quite happy how it is progressing. More about that soon.
Meanwhile I also rediscovered my first own story that I did, more for practice than anything else. The story calledPicture Perfect starring the little Mr Fox and his best friend Mr Mouse, two characters you might be familiar with if you have followed my blog for some time.
This was 2 years ago. Back then I had no idea about book or cover design, or making a concept to start with, and just went with it. I certainly improved in that respect, after several children’s book illustration classes. I just finished my first proper book dummy. So stay tuned for more on that.
Summer was so busy with work and other things, that I have been neglecting the blog and my art for the last couple of months! This definitely needs to change! First step was taken last weekend when I finally managed to clean up my drawing desk. I now have no excuses not to start drawing next weekend. I am also planning to do Inktober again, so I will hopefully start positing some warm-up sketches next week, just to get back into a drawing routine.
I wish I was somewhere with warmer climate right now. I think this is by far my favourite scene from the Capybara and Friends Colouring Book. What do you think?
Capybaras have webbed feet and it makes them excellent swimmers.
They can dive and hold their breath for five minutes at a time, and their ears fold back when they are underwater so they never have to worry about water getting stuck in their ears.
A colouring book for young and old with 15 unique and fun drawings, featuring capybaras and their friends.
Throughout the book you will also learn more about these adorable rodents, as each image is accompanied by fun facts.
Colour them in and bring them to life! The drawings are one sided full page images in order to avoid bleed through of other images. Take out the page after you are done and frame the image. I would love to see your finished pages!
I seems like I will be able two more of my open projects just in time for Christmas!
# 1 is a short story about Mr Fox. I am just in the last review stage.
# 2 is another Capybara colouring book! Yes! I am still in love with these poker face rodents and have so much fun drawing them. That’s why I put together another colouring book (as I am still working on my writing skills) with 15 brand new drawings! The drawings are of course again accompanied by old and new fun facts about capybaras. (Here is the first book if you haven’t heard about it yet.)
So if you are still missing a last minute Christmas present or cannot get enough of Capybaras (just like me), then this may be for you.
Here is a sneak peek. It will be available online by the end of the week.
