Not reckless. Work in progress. Had fun on the hoop this morning. I am not reckless but I know my strengths and weaknesses.
It’s been a while since I drew Mr Fox in the air. Did you know I have a full collection off downloadable aerial fox prints on my Etsy? They actually have become one of my most favourite items.
And the finished drawing. Who is the reckless on here?
Seems I am a mono-tasker after all. While I am focusing on my Etsy I have been neglecting my blog a lot this year… BUT I have not just been idle, there have been the occasional sketches and also editing work on my book.
It’s been a month since I was on a hoop. I was forced to take a break due to a pulled arm muscle. Patience is not one of my strengths, but I am trying to be smart this time and not make it worse. So I have been doing the next best thing, drawing Mr Fox the aerialist. It has been a while since he has made an appearance.
This was my first ever book project and my attempt at writing a story. And I am still quite happy with it.
I had no idea what I was doing back then when it came to story and book layout. I certainly improved since then. I am excited about the current project I am working on. Will be sharing it soon.
Picture Perfect – A Mr Fox Story was my first ever attempt at a children´s book on my own. I had no plan and no idea what I was doing 2 years ago and this is the result of it. And I have to say, I am still quite happy with it. I had never written a story before, so please bear with me.
If you are curious about the story, get your free kindle ebook on Amazon until the 22nd of November. I am just happy to put the story out there.
Happy weekend everyone! I spent the last couple of days going over my old books (while I am working on a new one). I tried to see where I had improved and where I still have lots of work to do when it comes to my illustrations. I am currently working on a book project and I am quite happy how it is progressing. More about that soon.
Meanwhile I also rediscovered my first own story that I did, more for practice than anything else. The story calledPicture Perfect starring the little Mr Fox and his best friend Mr Mouse, two characters you might be familiar with if you have followed my blog for some time.
This was 2 years ago. Back then I had no idea about book or cover design, or making a concept to start with, and just went with it. I certainly improved in that respect, after several children’s book illustration classes. I just finished my first proper book dummy. So stay tuned for more on that.
Adding a new piece to my portfolio. Almost happy how it turned out. This is the third version. Ink, watercolour and coloured pencils on mixed media paper.
Once I got into doing these image collections, I couldn’t stop. So here is another retrospect of drawings of last year. I had pretty much forgotten about the honey badger series I did!
They are also still available in my Society 6shopin case you are looking or an original present.
For those of you who are not fed up yet with Mr Francis Fox and Konstantin Mouse (yes, those are the names I seem to have settled for, what do you think?), here is a little teaser of my first own Mr Fox story!
I have been working on this book for a while now, struggling especially with the fact that I am not a writer. So it will be more of a picture story for young children than a literary masterpiece….
I had fun putting this little project together with old and new drawings and maybe some of the Mr Fox fans out there will enjoy it too. It is not your typical colouring book, but it also invites you to add backgrounds and add to the drawings on your own. Just like the Capybara Colouring book.
The drawings are accompanied by inspirational quotes that I personally like.
Have a great Sunday and 2. Advent!
We have a proper storm out there. I keep on adding ideas to my to-do and drawing list. So this is a good day to continue and finish with some of the other open projects I have. 🙂
