Happy Monday. Hope you have a better start into the week than this school bag owner.
Take Your Pet to School Day X
At one point when I was a child I really wanted to have a chinchilla as pet. I am not sure where that idea came from. We got a dog instead, which I think was the way better choice.
I still think they are super cute. Did you have an unusual pet when you where young or maybe even now?
Take Your Pet to School Day IX
Cat is taking a nap after chasing the budgie.
Take Your Pet to School Day VII
Tried another perspective and experimented with coloured pencils just for fun.
Take Your Pet to School Day VI
There is always someone who needs to clean up the mess. In this case the teacher.
What other kind of chaos could the pets cause?
Take Your Pet to School Day V
Changed perspective for this one.
Take Your Pet to School Day III
Last but not least, another classroom scene.
I was just thinking, would it be a interesting to do a children´s book with these images? A book with no words, but plenty to discover for kids? Let me know what you think.
And what kind of pet could be missing from the terrarium?
Have a great weekend!
Take Your Pet to School Day II
Another classroom another scene.
What kind of pets did you have when you grew up?
Take Your Pet to School Day I
This was my first attempt at a full scene in watercolour and ink, where I put the characters of the previous posts into action.
I am very happy how it turned out. Any comments and criticisms are welcome 🙂
Did you ever take your pet to school?
Character Design VI
Another character sketch. This time with pencil outline, just to try something different.
I don´t like how the dog turned out, but I actually like the softer pencil outline of the girl. What do you think? Do you prefer this over ink?
Character Design V
Tried something slightly different with this guy. Instead of the usual ink I used a coloured pencil for the outline.
What do you think?
Character Design IV
Another kid with her pet. Is it just me or do her eyebrows make her look like she is planning to cook the pig…. ? 😀
Watercolour and ink.
Character Design III
Another character design practice for Take Your Pet to School Day.
Watercolour on paper.
Character Design II
Part of my character design practice from last year for Take Your Pet to School Day.
Do you have a pet?
Time to revive my blog!
While I am working on something new, I am updating my portfolio with some older illustrations that I did a bit more than a year ago. Now properly scanned in. The idea was to practice character design. For this I chose the title Take Your Pet to School Day.
Take Your Pet to School Day II
Some of the initial sketches of the class room.
Have a great weekend! I will be out enjoying the sun.
Take Your Pet to School Day
Continuation of the drawings I did a couple of months ago. Some of them I forgot I actually drew, some of them where unfinished and I finally put the final touches on it. The whole idea was to practice more elaborate scenes with several characters and happenings.
Any feedback more than welcome!
I also think it is also about time to buy a new scanner instead of using my mediocre phone camera.
