After I felt like uploading a bunch of photos I took here and there the other day, I thought it is about time to put some of the things up I’ve been painting in Reykjavik in June like crazy.

Yes, this is apparently what you get when you go on holiday at home. Nostalgia.
Discovered this again at a friend’s place. Together with Nicole, a very good friend of mine, we I painted this one for our friend’s birthday as a last minute present ^^. Inspiration was her cat Heidi.
I was home on a family visit recently and discovered some of my older works once again. These two are still among my favourites.
Did you know that there are loads of elves out there in Iceland? I went to discover them in the fjord of Borgarfjörður eystri.

I’ve been busy painting the last couple of weeks and I managed to finish 12 paintings in somewhat record time before heading south for the summer.
Two of the works are dedicated to the in my opinion brilliant Mole the World Art Project.
So here my contribution to mole Reykjavik.
I’ve been busy painting like crazy the last few weeks. So far there are 8 new paintings, but only 4 of them finished and still a few to go before I take off for the summer.
There’ll be an exhibition opening on September 1st in Reykjavík with hopefully all of my finished paintings ^^ Below is one of the works (that I finished in the meantime) in progress…

I realized only now that I had a bunch of pictures of older drawings and paintings that I never put online. So I just made an update to the artwork pages.
I’m trying my water colour skills at the moment and some pictures of the latest works that have been inspired by Iceland should be up soon.

Literally. Finished this one yesterday. Had a batch of blue colour on my forehead which I only noticed afterwards while trying to get paint off my hands. No idea how it got there…
Anyway, this one was inspired by a paper graffiti in Reykjavík. I don’t know if it still exists as it was already half destroyed when I left the island in October.
As promised, I’ve been busy painting these last couple of days and I finished a couple of works I started already in October. So far, all of them are inspired by Iceland and I also attempted my first self-portrait. Or alternative title: Rainbows and unicorns ^^

Headline says it all. Another article has been published about me and the exhibition in Bad Saulgau, Germany, which is still continuing until 30th of September. Pity I wont get to see it though, as I am still in Iceland enjoying the icy wind and fabulous sunshine ^^
A picture of me was to be found on the front page of a German local paper followed by a brief article about me, my paintings, my travels, and ongoing exhibition on page 2!
Apparently they are going to bring another similar article next week. I’ll keep you posted about that. Meanwhile have a look at this one ^^
The song of this week is by one of my faveourite Icelandic bands Of Monsters and Men. While their beautiful song Little Talks is played around the clock on the radio and I’m afraid I’ve been listening way too much since I heard it the first time in spring on their concert here is another of their songs. I hope their album will be out soon and that I’m gonna catch them live during the next weeks in Reykjavik!
Meanwhile I’ll try to pick a new Song of the Week for Something about Iceland.
