Suck my ice cream

Some random water color practice while watching a movie. Not a fan of Miley, but I liked the way she was sucking her ice cream…

I actually quite like the way it turned out. Although I still feel like I am using water colours too much like acrylic colours… But I will keep on practicing.

There is ice cream on the ground – “Datt!”

“Datt” – an Icelandic word you will hear uttered especially by children after dropping absolutely anything (when living in Iceland of course). It means as much as “oops fallen”.  It fell and I don’t know how it happened…!?

Ice cream in winter

I wanted to take on a new project for January/ February and first thought about a portrait a day as I would like to improve my portrait drawing skills, something I haven´t done in years. But then I remembered something…

I don´t know for how long I have been thinking about doing a series dedicated to ice cream. I love ice cream and Iceland is a country somewhat addicted to it with ice cream shops open until late at night. You can find just as many people queuing for ice cream on a Friday night as during happy hour at the closest pub for another pint of beer.

So enjoy some ice cream during the weekend!

Last of 2017

So 2017 ended rather quietly with a bottle of wine and a plate of delicious Swiss cheese. Best of 2017 was that I finally got back into drawing after many years of not doing anything about it but always having it at the back of my head.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Inktober challenge and am super happy that one of my best friends pointed it out to me (Thank you Elise!). It certainly helped to create a positive habit of drawing regularly. Not every day, as there are plenty of other things I like to do, but about every other day.

Beside ink, which is my favourite at the moment, I am also trying to teach myself how to use water colours. I always had them but never actively used them.

Happy new year!

Aerial hoop

I am completely hooked on aerial hoop. I just got back to it this summer after a year long break. Love to be upside down in the air again!

Last of Inktober

The last of the Inktober drawings… better late than never. Voilà!

For the little time I spend on this one I quite love it. I need to get more of that Indian ink I’ve been using.

While in Finland – part 2

I was in Oulu, Finland, for two weeks enjoying crispy cold air, snowfall and sauna. Love and miss the forest.

Nothing better than to take a walk in a winter forest.

While in Finland

Had a little break and went to Finland for 2 weeks to relax. Also took my sketchbook along although I did not get much drawing done. But I am ready to start again now that I am back home.

I also took the man with the hat on the trip with me.

More ink

Inktober was a lot of fun thanks to a friend who pointed it out to me  and I really enjoyed drawing with ink, something I hadn´t done in years.

Bought a new notebook and will definitely keep on going.

Delayed Inktober 2017

Took me a bit to come up with an idea for “divided”. Was first thinking of a cake cut in half, probably because I was hungry, then of a character and then thought of a tree hit by lightning.

More ink…

As I missed the first week of Inktober I thought I will just keep on going with what I have missed. Also I got now into the habit of drawing daily, so I am enjoying it a lot!
