Continuation of the drawings I did a couple of months ago. Some of them I forgot I actually drew, some of them where unfinished and I finally put the final touches on it. The whole idea was to practice more elaborate scenes with several characters and happenings.
Any feedback more than welcome!
I also think it is also about time to buy a new scanner instead of using my mediocre phone camera.
Inspired by an illustration by Souther Salazar. Wanted to try something else and just have fun with colour and different media…
– Illustration practice with a short story –
In long-past times there lived a band of monkeys in a forest. As they rambled about they saw the reflection of the moon in a well, and the leader of the band said, “O friends, the moon has fallen into the well . The world is now without a moon. Ought not we to draw it out?”
The monkeys said, “Good; we will draw it out.”
So they began to hold counsel as to how they were to draw it out. Some of them said, “Do not you know? The monkeys must form a chain, and so draw the moon out.”
So they formed a chain, the first monkey hanging on to the branch of a tree, and the second to the first monkey’s tail, and a third one in its turn to the tail of the second one. When in this way they were all hanging on to one another, the branch began to bend a good deal. The water became troubled, the reflection of the moon disappeared, the branch broke, and all the monkeys fell into the well and were disagreeably damaged.
A deity uttered this verse, “When the foolish have a foolish leader, they all go to ruin, like the monkeys which wanted to draw the moon up from the well.”
Still hibernating? Maybe. Time to start drawing again.
I guess this style is more me, rather than the last one.

Another Inktober 21 drawing that I didn´t post previously.
Apparently I do enjoy drawing boats, but I don´t like to be in them. Also we had now in average one storm per week for he past 2 months. Good winter in Iceland. Other countries have spring, I´ve been told….
Going through my sketchbook, I discovered this little guy. He was part of my Inktober 21 drawings, but I never posted him.
So here it is. Fancy a cup of tea?
Found this guy in the beginning of my sketchbook. I got inspired by a t-shirt with above’s headline and though a shoe bill would fit the phrase perfectly. I think they are pretty cool!
I need at least one. Either black (like my soul) or with loads of milk, Latte like. Everyone has their preferences. How do you like yours?

I still think that dogs make the best pets.
No, that’s not blood on the floor but paint. The teacher is not happy either way.
While we currently have the snowstorm apocalypse raging outside, here is another curious pet.
I remembered that when I was young, I really wanted to have a chinchilla as a pet. I don´t know much about these rodents , but they are certainly cute.
The budgie looks rough. But why?

Continuation of the drawing practice I did in November.
Tried to use coloured pencil instead of ink for the outline. I kind of like both. The clear lines of the ink but also this slightly softer look of the pencil.
