Inktober Day 9 – Heavy

I had a lot of fun with these guys. Will be drawing some more of them. I might even add some to my Etsy. What do you think? Would you like to have a hippo on your wall.

Rainy day and spent the day afternoon drawing. At least I am all caught up now with the prompts.

Wanna hang with me?

Here is the almost finished opossum. I haven´t been hanging upside down for almost a month now due to an elbow injury , but I might attempt going back to aerial hoop this week to start with some easy training again.

Anyone else here who likes to hang upside down?

What animal would you like to see next?

Getting side tracked once again

Opossum you said…?

Consider it a warm up drawing for getting back into my book project…

Honey Badger Coming Your Way

After a months break I finally opened my sketchbook again. The result, … a bunch of honey badgers. If you have been following me for a while you might remember my previous honey badger phase. I think it is time to activate it again!

Something different

Suddenly felt the urge to draw lamas. Inspired by my daughters sweater. I thought their funny faces might make for a fun poster design.

Which one is your favourite?

Dogs dogs dogs

For all the dog people out there, I have been drawing dogs all weekend. Well, actually the same dog over an over again. Character design for my new book! I will be giving you a sneak peak soon, so watch this space.

Meanwhile I am still enjoying these two. The sun came finally back to Reykjavik but so came the wind and it feels like – 24 degrees Celsius out there…

Meet the Artist

Adding a new piece to my portfolio. Almost happy how it turned out. This is the third version. Ink, watercolour and coloured pencils on mixed media paper.

Owl Orchestra Part III

Warm up sketch for today – Owl playing piano. Why not.

Drew this using my “brand new” 30 year old Mont Blanc fountain pen that I received as a gift the other week. The pen is beautiful and it just smoothly goes over the paper. Perfect for sketching on the road, which is a habit I want to take up.

Chameleon Doodle

Doodling a chameleon with chameleon markers. The things you do while drinking wine.

Was curious to try these markers and this is the outcome. Was fun to try but I probably wouldn´t really use them for anything else.

Has anyone used them?

Don’t mess with me

I discovered shoebills a couple of months ago and have been sketching them on and off. I do quite like their slightly mean facial expression.

Sketch in ink and watercolor.

Catch me if you can

Art supply shops are like candy shops. You go in to buy the one thing you want and walk out with a bag of goodies instead. I treated myself to a fountain pen and new nibs for drawing. Plus a ton of different papers and pencils.

First fountain pen trial.

Hiding From the Rain

Pouring rain today and I am hiding under the blanket. This capybara was not so lucky but was caught by the downpour while camping.

This capybara is also part of my capybara colouring book which you can find here.

Have a great weekend!

Sleepy Dog

Still learning how to use my new Caran d´ache coloured pencils. I have a vision in my mind but so far I have not been able to reproduce it on paper yet.

Practice makes perfect, so I will keep on drawing and see what comes out of it eventually.
