Part III of the little fly story introduction.
One morning when the little fly woke up in her hole in her tree, she noticed that something was different in the garden…

Welcome to the little fly week, where I introduce the Adventures of the Little Fly. The book is available in Icelandic here.
The little fly lives in a hole in a tree in a big garden.
I thought it is about time to introduce the second children’s book that I have been illustrating. It is now available on Amazon.
Unfortunately the story is only available in Icelandic, and I don’t think there are that many Icelandic readers here. But maybe there are aspiring Icelandic learners. It is certainly suitable for them as it is intended for children 6 years and older.
The first book I ever illustrated was the story of Nobbi and his pug Kobbi, written by my friend Norbert, which you can find here.
The Adventures of the Little Fly is written also by an Icelandic author, Rúna Vala, and tells the story of a little fly who lives in a tree in a garden. Puzzled by the changing seasons and the change the garden goes through the little fly sets our on unexpected adventures.
The fly has no name as it is just a fly, not a very small one, but not a very big one either. Just about average.

I have been drawing a lot and because of that completely neglected all of my social media. I really need to find a balance.
I am currently in the process of creating a proper portfolio for children’s book illustrations, and I have been working on a few new drawings and techniques with watercolour, ink and pencils.
I am also in the process to finish my first own book, with the main character being the one and only, Mr Fox! More about that soon.
Meanwhile Mr Fox assists Mr Mouse to dig a hole in the forest… He hopes to find a hidden treasure somewhere.
I am also looking for first names for Mr Fox and Mr Mouse. Any suggestions are more than welcome!
Have a great week!

Mr Fox in colour!
What is better than a meal in good company. Another doodle trying out those Chameleon markers. Fun to try but too much hassle to use those pens if you ask me. But I do like the outcome.
Mr Fox invited Mr Mouse for a surprise birthday picnic in the woods. The weather is good and the group is enjoying their cup of tea.
Have a great week.

Mr Fox in colour. Currently having the pleasure to be staying with an artist who gave me free hand to roam through her art supplies.
I started to sketch and tried different mediums which I haven’t used before, which is fantastic.
One result of these explorations is this little colourful version of Mr Fox, drawn with Caran d’ache oil crayons.
I can totally see myself illustrating an entire children’s book with these crayons. Love how vibrant they are.

Another Caran D’ache practice. I feel like I am not there yet, to the image I have in my head, but I think it is definitely an improvement from the last drawing. What do you think?
Have a great week!

I started work on two new books. One will be my own, with the main character being the one and only, little Mr Fox. The other one is still in the planing stage. But I am excited nevertheless.
Seems for a fun warm up sketch I have settled for another fun French Bulldog once again. Also good to practice my pencil drawing skills.
So set your focus and don´t loose it.

Sun is shining, the weather is sweet. No more cats and dogs, nevertheless I drew a dog.
Let´s say he is sunbathing and enjoying the warmth.
Should I draw a cat tomorrow?

That expression came to mind when I looked out the window this morning. So naturally I felt like drawing a funny dog as the sketch of the day. Trying to get back into the habit of sketching daily.
I also felt curious of where the expression comes from and turns out it is not quite clear.
Reference image of this funny dog is from Pinterest.
