The Great White pelican lives in the shallow swamps in Africa and is one of the largest flying birds in the world.
This pelican’s yellow gular pouch has capacity for 13 liters of water or up to 4 kg of fish.

The pink-backed pelican can be found in the shallow lakes of Africa, southern Arabia, and southern India.
It is a relatively small pelican, although by no means is it a small bird. Its length is from 125 to 155 cm, wingspan is 2.15–2.9 m and body mass is from 4 to 7 kg. The bill is 30 to 38 cm in length. The plumage is grey and white, with a pinkish hue on the back occasionally apparent.
Have a great Monday!
If you do like pelicans and would like to support my art, check out my Society 6 shop.

Gorgeous weather today.
This guy looks a little bit dishevelled though. Maybe he also had a wine too many last night.
There are two main populations of Dalmatian pelican. One breeds in Eastern Europe, wintering in the eastern Mediterranean region, and the other breeds in central Asia and Russia, wintering in the Indian subcontinent, Iran and Iraq.

More pelican facts for the weekend.
The beak of the Australian pelican is the largest of all birds. It’s so large and spacious, that it can hold from 9 to 13 liters of water.
When catching fish, they take huge amounts of water into the pouch. Then they move the head forward, pour out the water and swallow the fish. They eat up to 4 kg fish per day.

My sisters stuffed animal – Dumbo the elephant, as she called him. She never spent a night without him for 30 years, since she got him at the age of 2-3. His actual colours are more faded now and he got new eyes at least once or twice since then. I felt like I needed to capture him at least once. He is still going strong though, despite everything he went through.
Anyone else had a little friend that accompanied you throughout the years?

Up to 25 percent of the honey badger’s omnivorous diet consists of venomous snakes. But the honey badger doesn’t eat snakes out of desperation but because they are an excellent source of meat and, as a slow moving prey, for him easy to hunt.
The honey badger is resistant to snake venom. Evolving to withstand snake venom is like being the only person at a party who can eat the extra-hot salsa: You get it all to yourself.

Introducing a new character, the honey badger. Have been sketching them for a while as I wanted to do a T-shirt design. Still in the works, meanwhile some of the sketches.
Guess we all should take an example of the honey badger. Never heard of them before? Check them out here! They are amazing.

Thank you everyone for all you lovely messages. It means a lot. ❤ I am not a person to publicly put my feelings out there but it happened rather spontaneously.
My sister was very open during the last 2 years (since we found out), about the damage our mother – a covert narcissists – has caused, and I am very grateful to my sister that she never held back. She would tell people about it whether it was appropriate or not. She didn´t care, and she is right. Just creating a bit of awareness that this personality disorder exists is a first step and might help others.
Covert narcissists can be way more damaging and dangerous than open ones, as it is more difficult to spot them. It took me 10 years to figure it out and certainly didn´t come easy. But once you see through their game, you cannot believe how they could have fooled you for so long, as their acting skills can be described as horrendous at best.
I know I am not alone with this. And there are a lot of capybaras part of the lemon pool party.

When I was a kid I used to love to eat lemon slices dipped in sugar. Thinking about it, even nowadays, lemons are an essential part in my kitchen. Sometime instead of tea I just drink hot lemon, and lemon is part of many dishes I cook. Pasta with salmon – lemon – cream sauce is one of my favourites.
The capybara went for a more direct approach.
