The mood right after the holidays – after eating way too much and too much socializing, but it was totally worth it.
This sleepy capybara is also part of my latest Capybaras & Friends Colouring Book.

I miss the beach. Cold beer and a good book. What else do you need?
I think I spent in total about 6-7 weeks in La Ciudad de México on my 3 visits there. I was there before and after my visit in Malinalco in April/May 2018. I stayed with a friend in San Rafael, which I thought was quite a nice part of town.
I took plenty of photos while walking around as I could not use the Uber app on my phone and could not be bothered to use taxis most of the time. And I dislike the metro or bus because of too many people. So I walked a lot. When I took photos I had a series of drawings in mind about “people of Mexico City”…. Something that was inspired by those “Humans of New York” photos that were trending several years ago. This is is my take on it.
I think this was somewhere around Juárez, on the way to La Roma.
I recently watch an artists advice video that suggested that you should mirror your drawings. I guess to see if they look right. Here is the mirrored image, the right way round of CDMX.
This is how I still feel like after the holidays. I suppose I am not the only one? Lazy and tired from too much food. So I decided it is time to go back to aerial hoop tonight!
This image is part of my Mexico travel book from last spring. I decided to fill up the remaining pages during the Christmas break and I still have a couple to go. It is nice to dwell in memories full of sun and bright colours.
This is one of the lovely street dogs I encountered during my walks in Malinalco, Mexico.
I originally started drawing this one for the last prompt of Inktober titled slice.
But as the woman has finished eating almost all the cheese, I thought that the drawing did not fit the prompt that well any longer. Therefore, what you get are the leftovers.
Travelled to Switzerland and Germany last week, hence the break on the aerial themed illustrations for the #WorldWatercolorMonth. But I will continue from where I left off in the next week.
Until then, sketch from yesterday. I had a fabulous day with excellent company. We were sunbathing at the Dreisam river in Freiburg. Despite 35 degrees celsius I managed to get these two sketches done. Loved being in the sun for a week. Unfortunately it didn´t last long and I am back to the harsh reality of wet Icelandic summer again.
My friend Elise, having a nap in the afternoon sun. The grass is completely dried out and burned as it hasn´t rained in weeks.
These guys napping in the shadow during the afternoon heat. There are plenty of street dogs around here but most of them look well fed and they are very friendly towards people and vice versa.
They didn´t even blink once when I passed and watched them.
There were not as many street dogs around as I would have had expected, but a lot of people actually have dogs. I really miss having a dog. This one was snoozing in front of a paint supply shop.
Observation: It´s too hot to move during the afternoon heat.
