Take your Pet to School Day V

Continuation of the drawing practice I did in November.

Tried to use coloured pencil instead of ink for the outline. I kind of like both. The clear lines of the ink but also this slightly softer look of the pencil.

What do you think?

It’s Monday again. It´s not back to school but back to work…

Art vs Artist

I made a last one of these Art vs Artists collages. Also more for me as I enjoyed taking a look at my work from last year.

Below are my first proper attempts of watercolour illustrations. I still feel like I have a long way to go. But practice makes you maybe not perfect, but better bit by bit.

Happy weekend!

Pool Party

I wish I was somewhere with warmer climate right now. I think this is by far my favourite scene from the Capybara and Friends Colouring Book. What do you think?

It’s also the illustration I did last for it.

Adventurous Seas

Just like life, a lot is going on below and above sea level.

This is another seen from my latest Capybaras and Friends Colouring Book.

Happy Monday!

Art vs Artist III

Once I got into doing these image collections, I couldn’t stop. So here is another retrospect of drawings of last year. I had pretty much forgotten about the honey badger series I did!

They are also still available in my Society 6 shop in case you are looking or an original present.

And the fox drawings are part of my Mr Fox Colouring Book.

Art vs Artist II

I kind of liked the art vs artist set up and I thought it would be nice to reflect on some of my other drawings that I did throughout 2021.

So here is another one. People and animals in ink and watercolour from last spring.

Me in my Imaginary Garden

Full blown snow storm raging outside. So its nice to be inside all warm and cozy, dreaming of imaginary worlds.

This nature capybara is also part of my latest Capybaras & Friends Colouring Book.

I finished project #2. My first own little story about the adventures of Francis Fox. Join him on his quest to take the perfect picture.

The book is available here as paperback or eBook.

Happy 4th Advent!

I need your help

So I thought after the capybara colouring book was so well received, that I would put some of my old and brand new Mr Fox drawings together in a colouring book.

I have been playing around with cover designs on Affinity publisher, but with way too many colour and font choices, picking one is difficult. So I narrowed it down to these 4. Which one is your favourite? Take part in the poll below.

Thank you 🙂

African Wild Dogs II

I really like sketching these wild dogs. I am also experimenting with different outlines and pencils. So far I like the result. Only the paper quality was not the best. Will change that for the next drawing.

African Wild Dog

A friend gave me the book Solo the Story of an African Wild Dog by Hugo Van Lawick.

I knew nothing about wild dogs beforehand. Absolutely loved the story which is a description of a pack of wild dogs and in particular the story of Solo, one of the cubs.

I only learned that the story of Solo is somewhat famous after reading the book. I certainly had fun sketching this little dog.

Inktober Roundup

After I felt like I was doing so well with my posting habits throughout October I fell into somewhat of a slump the last week. I have been focusing on drawing and several online are courses that I am taking at the moment instead.

I finished all of the Inktober prompts, however, I am not really happy how the last 3 turned out as I rushed them, so I haven’t posted them yet.

Here are all the other ones that I am quite happy with. I ended up with 33 drawings even with the last 3 missing as I did more than one drawing on some of the days.

Do you have a favourite?

First coffee. Scheme later. Part II.

Monday once again. Random post update. Time to activate your inner honey badger.

This guy is also part of the Honey Badger Collection on Society 6.

Adventures of the Little Fly IV

Continuation of introducing the Adventures of the Little Fly.

Something was different in the garden of the little fly. The flowers seemed to let their heads hang and also the bees flew slower than usual.

Rainy Day

I have been drawing a lot and because of that completely neglected all of my social media. I really need to find a balance.

I am currently in the process of creating a proper portfolio for children’s book illustrations, and I have been working on a few new drawings and techniques with watercolour, ink and pencils.

I am also in the process to finish my first own book, with the main character being the one and only, Mr Fox! More about that soon.

Meanwhile Mr Fox assists Mr Mouse to dig a hole in the forest… He hopes to find a hidden treasure somewhere.

I am also looking for first names for Mr Fox and Mr Mouse. Any suggestions are more than welcome!

Have a great week!

A Different Kind of Animal

Mr Fox in colour. Currently having the pleasure to be staying with an artist who gave me free hand to roam through her art supplies.

I started to sketch and tried different mediums which I haven’t used before, which is fantastic.

One result of these explorations is this little colourful version of Mr Fox, drawn with Caran d’ache oil crayons.

I can totally see myself illustrating an entire children’s book with these crayons. Love how vibrant they are.
