Window Shopping in Edinburgh
Went on a stop over to Edinburgh last month. I enjoyed the city just as much as the first time I was there for a long weekend. And it seems I spent too much time drawing foxes the last month, as I started to see them everywhere.
I took the opportunity to stock up on sketchbooks and pens, as those things are rather pricey in Iceland. And of course I had to use them right away.
Inktober 2019 Day 31 – Ripe

Trying to catch Mr Mouse turned out to be too exhausting. Therefore little Mr Fox stuffed his face with ripe grapes instead.
Inktober 2019 Day 14 – Overgrown
I wanted to draw another dragon. This one went to take a nap in the forest. After a long slumber he woke up only to discover that he was surrounded by forest flora and fauna.
Cat Yoga I
Lazy Saturday morning. Trying to get up to do some yoga… I found this drawing that I did back in May when I was still in Athens and enjoying the sun. I really miss Greece….
Inspiration was the two cats they have at the pole studio, where I went for aerial hoop training in Athens. Whenever you put the mat down on the ground to stretch, one of the cats would come and lie down on it and claim the space or sharpen its nails on the mat. It was actually a lot of fun to have them around as entertainment.
World Watercolor Month Wrap-Up
Finished later than planned but eventually did it. My 31 prompts for World Watercolour Month of 2019. In addition to following the prompt list I also tried to incorporate a traveller theme.
I had a lot of fun with this one. I feel that I got a lot faster at sketching, and proportions and people come easier to me now after a month (and a half) of almost consistent daily drawing. I will definitely keep going. Time to look for another challenge… Any suggestions?

Day 31 – Favourite Colours #WorldWatercolorMonth
Made it to the last prompt of World Watercolor Month – Favorite Colors! I was at a total loss of what to draw, so I took my favourite photo of me and the boyfriend from our fabulous Crete trip in April as inspiration, and just went with it. It is basically us monkeying around in a beautiful forest.

Day 29 – Glorious Green #WorldWatercolorMonth
Took me while what green to focus on. So I took a forest / jungle walk. Tranquillity and colours of the forest. Just loving it!

Day 28 – Metallic #WorldWatercolorMonth
Tried something a bit different in style. Bought a bunch of colourful pens the other day, now trying to use them.
Day 26 – Natural Wonders #WorldWatercolorMonth
So July ended and I am 5 drawings short for #WorldWatercolorMonth.
My excuse is that we had a long weekend coming up here in Iceland and I went on a road trip around the East Fjords of Iceland. It was marvellous but I am also glad to be back home and not to sleep in a tent any more in 10 degrees Celsius.
Prompt for day 26 – Natural Wonders. For a long time I wanted to draw these two Instagram models that I took a photo of at the Grand Cenote near Tulum, Mexico last year. They spend about an hour taking selfies without ever looking at any of the natural wonders around them. Then they left, with their makeup and hair still perfectly intact. They were quite a source of amusement for the people that were actually having fun swimming in the cold clear waters.
Day 4 – Family Fun #WorldWatercolorMonth
Prompt for day 4 – Family fun. So as you might have guessed by know, I decided to stick to the theme of travellers. There are so many weird and funny and also plain stupid tourist and travellers out there. It´s an endless source of inspiration! I have also been working in tourism for the last couple of years, and every time you think you have seen it all.. oh boy, it hits you!
I remember going on family holiday. The drama that would always occur somewhere along the way… the chaos of packing, the struggle of getting everyone into the car, siblings fighting in the back seat, sustained yelling, repeated “are we there yet?” chants, and other kind of entertaining incidents that occurred along the long road to the holiday destination. Who has had similar experiences?
Day 3 – Picnic Food #WorldWatercolorMonth
Do you like octopus? The boyfriend loves it and was in food heaven in Athens where you get it fried in many restaurants. During the day you can see them hanging outside, drying in the sun before they end up on your plate. Personally I am disgusted by the idea of eating octopus. But to each his own.

Dogs of Athens
After the last couple of cat illustrations I had to do some dogs in between. This is at a small square in Kypseli, Athens. A lot of people come here with their dogs in all sizes. I enjoy watching them. You also see street dogs around Athens, but they are mainly scattered around the centre.
I actually really pity those big hairy fluff-balls. Currently 35 degrees Celsius and I feel like melting. Don´t want to imagine what they are going through with all their fur.
The 90s are Back
On my first day in Athens I was enjoying the mid-February sun in the park in Kypseli. After Iceland it felt like a warm summer day to me, when I spotted this girl and her dog.
I had to take a picture of her, because I haven’t seen these kind of plateau shoes in action since the Spice Girls. Turns out they are quite popular here. Maybe because the average Greek girl is rather short…? I think there are some fashion trends that should stay dead. Those shoes are one of them.
Creative Lightning
Really liked this lamp in a coffee house in the centre of Athens. I unfortunately forgot the name of the place and also the street it was in… So I haven´t been back there…
One of the Many Cat Corners of Athens
I thought it was time to return to Athens again. My Greece sketchbook is still very much empty. Time to fill it up.
On one of my strolls around the centre of Athens I came across this cat meeting corner. Feral cats are pretty much everywhere but especially around the Acropolis. There are also plenty of people that feed them. So far I haven´t seen a skinny cat (or dog), rather the opposite.

Came across a joke the other day. Two crows sitting on a fence next to a corn field. In the distance the outline of a person. The crows are discussing whether it is a scarecrow or a human.
“Don’t worry its only a scarecrow.”

#OneWeek100People2019 – Day 4
Finished colouring in Day 4 of last weeks 100 people challenge. It was sunny that day for a change, therefore the lack of umbrellas. I used mainly Pinterest images for reference as I prefer being comfortable on the couch while sketching.
I will be heading to Crete for the next week. So the rest will have to wait until I am back in Athens.

#OneWeek100People2019 – Day 3
I managed to colour in Day 3 of the One Week 100 People challenge yesterday. I also finished the last couple of people during the weekend, so I made it to 100 with a bit of delay! But I really had fun with it. Will post the remainder in the following days.
